The town of Chewandswallow was like any small town except for one thing: its weather came three times a day - at breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and "everything that everyone ate fell from the sky." It never rained rain or snowed snow or blew just wind. "It rained things like soup and juice. It snowed mashed potatoes and green peas. And sometimes the wind blew in storms of hamburgers." Life in Chewandswallow was delicious until the weather took a turn for the worse.
