The town of Chewandswallow was like any small town except for one thing: its weather came three times a day - at breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and "everything that everyone ate fell from the sky." It never rained rain or snowed snow or blew just wind. "It rained things like soup and juice. It snowed mashed potatoes and green peas. And sometimes the wind blew in storms of hamburgers." Life in Chewandswallow was delicious until the weather took a turn for the worse. Traffic got snarled when it rained spaghetti, another time it rained nothing but overcooked broccoli, and one day only brussel sprouts with peanut butter and mayonnaise - yuck! … School had to be cancelled when a huge pancake overrunning with syrup covered the entire school. Life in Chewandswallow was becoming unbearable - what were the people to do? Your young readers and listeners will be laughing at this hilarious weather even as they wonder what they'd do if faced with a mountain of their favorite foods. A modern classic enjoyed by millions of children, this is the basis for the recently released animated film of the same title. Ages 3-8. 32pp.
