as we welcome the cast of Vital
Theatre Company's new production of
The Klezmer Nutcracker along with
the book-writer,
Ellen Kushner
on Sunday November 30 at 1pm. The
Klezmer Nutcracker, based on the
book "The
Golden Dredyl" by
Ellen Kushner,
tells the story of a young girl who
goes on a magical, holiday journey
when she receives a mysterious gift
from her Tante Miriam. With
Tchaicovsky's music played by the
Shirim Klezmer Orchestra, this
production weaves together threads
of folklore and tradition with
contemporary humor and fantasy!
The Cast will perform sneak preview
selections from this original Vital
show, that opens December 6th at
Vital Theatre Company on 76th and
Broadway. Author
Ellen Kushner
will read from
The Golden
Dredyl and then children
in the audience are invited to join
the cast in a "Ballet workshop."
And, of course,
Ellen Kushner
will be available to sign books.
