On Monday, November 16th,
from 6-8pm, Books of Wonder
is thrilled to announce an event
featuring FOUR of the five 2009
National Book Award Finalists
for Young Adult Literature!
DEBORAH
HEILIGMAN will introduce
her tale about the world renowned
evolutionist in
Charles and Emma: The Darwins’ Leap of Faith;
PHILLIP HOOSE will
inspire us with her tale,
Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice,
celebrated author
LAINI
TAYLOR will discuss her
latest supernatural,
romantic-thriller,
Lips Touch: Three Times;
a story about perseverance and
inner-strength; and the
award-winning author
RITA
WILLIAMS-GARCIA will
bring us into a world of gossipy
high school students in her new
title,
Jumped.
Beginning at 6pm, these National
Book Award Finalists will
introduce their titles, take
questions from the audience, and
then sign copies of all their
amazing books. Here’s your chance to
learn about these great books and
meet their authors, just 3 days
before the National Book Award is
announced. Ages 10 and up. 6-8pm.
