Books of Wonder is thrilled to host JONATHAN AUXIER on Thursday, August 11 as we celebrate the release of his new chapter book, Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes. Ten-year-old Peter Nimble -- a blind orphan -- has been forced into a life of crime. When Peter steals a mysterious box containing three pairs of magical eyes, he can't resist trying on a pair. No sooner has he done so, then he's magically transported to a hidden island. There he is given the chance to undertake a perilous quest to rescue a lost kingdom from its treacherous ruler. But to do it, Peter must travel beyond the known world into great danger. With the help of the Fantastic Eyes and some unlikely friends, Peter embarks on a swashbuckling adventure to save a people in need - and to discover his true destiny. This special publication party will begin at 5pm when JONATHAN AUXIER will read from Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes, answer questions from the audience, and sign copies of this debut novel for all. Light refreshments will be served. Ages 8-12. 5-7 pm
