FANTASTIC NON-FICTION!
They say fact can be stranger than fiction. It can also be just as entertaining! Something you and your young readers will discover as these authors present their exciting new non-fiction books for spring on Saturday, May 17th. Joining us will be award-winning author TONYA BOLDEN, author of George Washington Carver – a brilliant biography for young readers about this brilliant American who was born into slavery but grew up to become a teacher, scientist, researcher, and spokesperson; award-winning writer and illustrator LYNN CURLEE, introduces his latest work, Mythological Creatures: A Classical Bestiary – a beautifully illustrated introduction to the beasts, heroes and fabulous creatures of mythology who have captured the imagination of countless people for generations;
and award-winning author TRISH MARX, author of Elephants and Golden Thrones: Inside China’s Forbidden City – a fascinating exploration of the enormous palace city from which the emperors of China ruled for over five hundred years. The authors and artists will present their books at noon, then answer questions and sign copies of all their fascinating books. 12-2pm
Please note that LEONID GORE
has had a scheduling conflict and will not be able to
join us at this event. We hope to have him later in May,
so please check our website for details.
