Books of Wonder
is
thrilled to announce that on Saturday, April 17th,
from 12-2pm, we will be hosting an event
focusing on books illustrated with comic
book-style or graphic novel artwork. Joining us
will be the following TEN talented
authors and artists: New Yorker art
editor
FRANÇOISE MOULY
and Pulitzer Prize winner
ART SPIEGELMAN
will introduce
TOON Treasury of Classic Children's Comics,
a compilation of some of their personal favorite
and the most celebrated comics from the past,
including gems by such figures as Sheldon Mayer,
John Stanley, Carl Barks, Walt Kelly, and many
more; additionally,
ART SPIEGELMAN
will delight us with his
Jack and the Box
in which Jack, a quiet little bunny, receives an
out-of-the-ordinary birthday present from his
parents;
MIKE CAVALLARO
will delight us with his artwork for
Foiled, an enthralling
graphic novel written by Jane Yolen;
GEORGE O’CONNOR
will be on hand to discuss the first
two titles in his new Olympians series,
Zeus: King of the Gods and
Athena: Grey-eyed Goddess;
COLLEEN AF VENABLE
will leave us in stitches with her book for
beginning readers,
Hamster and Cheese;

will have us laughing out loud at their
uproarious title about a pair of aliens in
Zig & Wikki: Something Ate My Homework;

will delight us with some unsuspecting mouse

Benny and Penny in the Toy Breaker;

will
introduce three hilarious titles,
Otto’s Orange Day,
Knights of the
Lunch Table
#1: The Dodgeball Chronicles,
and
Knights of the Lunch Table #2: The Dragon
Players.
Beginning at noon, these TEN
talents will introduce their titles, take
questions from the audience, and then sign
copies of all their wonderful books. Ages 4-10.
